During these weeks, I worked on creating graphic designs and videos to promote Vivero’s drop-in hours, as well as to create content (videos) to incentivize students to apply to be part of Vivero in the spring, for them to join in the following year (semester). I found this training a good learning experience because it enabled me to learn more about graphic design. I would say I am not the most creative person ever, but I like to try new things and thinking outside of the box. For this reason, I thought it would be nice to do some creative graphic designs of flyers to promote Vivero and push myself out of my comfort zone to be a creative person! Some things that were important to remind myself were: it is okay to not be perfect! I think when I aspire to create something and expect perfection on the first attempt, I am not setting myself up for success.
It was useful to watch YouTube videos that helped me understand tools that can enhance the look of a graphic design on Canva, such as blending the background colors with other different colors to create a more professional looking background. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot with this training and look forward to continue learning and grow my creative capabilities!
